Uterine prolapse often occurs within a few hours after delivery in older female dogs. An oblong bag can be seen protruding from the vulva, which often droops above the hock joint. If it lasts for a long time, congestion and edema may occur. This bag is a part or all of the uterus that turns over and protrudes into or outside the vagina.

If you encounter this situation every day, you can wash the local area with soapy water, then disinfect it with iodophor, and use your fingers to put the prolapsed uterus back. If the uterus prolapses again, it will need to be sent to the hospital for surgical treatment. Use chlormethionine disinfectant for local flushing and disinfection, apply iodine glycerin and push it into the vagina, perform purse-string sutures around the vulva, and put antibiotics into the uterus after recovery.
