Causes of pancreatitis in dogs

1. Obesity:

The most common cause of pancreatitis in dogs is obesity. The dog’s body consumes too much fat. This is the key reason why dogs develop pancreatitis.

2. Inflammation of the bile duct:

Once a dog develops pancreatitis, and the cause of obesity is excluded, it is possible that inflammation of the bile duct spreads to the pancreas through lymph, and the inflammation triggers the pancreas, causing pancreatitis.

3. Duodenal fluid reflux:

When dogs vomit, due to intestinal blockage, duodenal fluid or bile will flow back directly into the space between the pancreatic duct and the pancreas. Likewise, It can also cause pancreatitis.
