Muscle twitching

When a puppy suffers from hypoglycemia, it will show signs of mental distress, unsteady walking, facial muscle cramps or whole body muscle twitching. In severe cases, it may fall into a coma. In addition, body temperature may drop, heartbeat may be weak, breathing may be slow or difficult, and some dogs may experience vomiting, diarrhea, etc. In severe cases, the pupils may even become dilated and reflexes may disappear.

Elevated body temperature

Postpartum female dogs will show muscle tonicity or intermittent spasms throughout the body, increased body temperature, accelerated breathing and heart rate.
