How to train a dog to hold a ball

1. First let the dog sit on your left side, hold an object in your right hand, such as a toy ball, and then give the "bite" command, and then gently use your left hand to hold the ball. Gently open the dog's mouth and put the ball into the dog's mouth.
2. Use your right hand to support the dog’s lower jaw. Give the "bite" and "ok" commands at the same time, and pat the dog's head with your left hand to let the dog hold the object firmly. When the dog shows signs of vomiting objects, repeat the "bite" command and gently lift the lower jaw, put the ball back into the dog's mouth, and let the dog continue to bite the toy.
3. In the early stages of training, success will be considered if the dog can hold the dog for a few seconds.
4. Then the owner can give the "spit" command if the dog spits out the toy. Remember that the owner must pet the dog to let the dog know that what it did is right and good.
5. Finally, put away the ball toy and reward the dog with food. Repeat the training as above.
6. Once the dog can freely hold and spit out toys according to your command, the holding training can be successfully completed.

1. First determine the password. In the early stages of training, the dog must first clearly remember the password. Usually it means "bite" or "spit". The owner cannot be changed at will during training. The dog will not remember this.
