Causes of gastrointestinal parasite infection in dogs

Some sources of infection come from infection in the mother, and some are caused by ingestion of eggs in the environment, which hatch into adult worms in the dog's body. When dogs are walking and playing outside, they often have the opportunity to accidentally ingest insect eggs exposed to the environment, and these eggs will become parasitic in the dog's intestines and stomach.
