Mild heatstroke in dogs

Symptoms:

Drooling, shortness of breath, and restlessness.

Solution:

Loosen the collar and chest strap and lower the ambient temperature. Move the pet to a cool place or give it an electric fan or air conditioner to cool it down, and then give it an appropriate amount of water to slowly recover.

Moderate heatstroke in dogs

Symptoms:

Difficulty breathing, dull eyes and lack of concentration.

Solution:

First wet the pet's body with ice water, or half-immerse it in the water. Be careful not to use all ice water when soaking to prevent the dog's body temperature from dropping sharply. Generally, water from the tap can be used. Send to the hospital immediately after emergency treatment.

Severe heat stroke in dogs

Symptoms:

Shock coma, severe cases can cause direct death of dogs.

Solution:

First wet the body with ice water or wrap the whole body with a towel. You can also wipe with alcohol to cool down, or pour cold water from the anus into the rectum, and then send to the hospital as soon as possible. On the way to the hospital, be sure to lower the pet's head and straighten its neck to keep breathing smooth and prevent vomiting.

Dogs have a higher mortality rate from heat stroke

According to doctor statistics, an average of 200-300 dogs die from heat stroke in a summer. If the heat stroke lasts for more than 2 hours without treatment, they will die directly. The rate can be as high as 90%, so owners need to pay attention to the fact that the death of dogs is still very serious, and once a fever occurs due to heat stroke, they must be rinsed with cold water to cool down in time, and do not delay the final treatment of heat stroke in dogs due to negligence. The optimal time is that the cooling time should not be too long and the water temperature should not be too low, as this can easily cause hypothermia in dogs.
