How to deal with itchy skin in dogs

1. Try to find out the underlying disease and treat the sick dog. This is the fundamental treatment method.
2. Adrenocortical hormones, such as prednisone 0.5-2 mg/kg body weight or dexamethasone 0.15-0.25 mg/kg body weight, intramuscular injection, oral or external use.
3. Antihistamine drugs, diphenhydramine 5-20 mg intramuscularly.
4. For severe itching, local anesthetic can be injected or local ointment can be applied. Use 0.5%~10% Ichthyostatin or Daho cream to apply externally and rub it in.
